Legacy Dance Academy's competitors have taken part in an inter-school charity dance competition organised by Stepz School of Dance. The competition raised a whopping £255 for the NHS and gave dancers across the country something to work towards! It was sponsored by lots of incredible companies including; Cadbury, Tatti Lashes, Babcock, E. Gilbert Illustrations, Platinum Poppi and In Your Face Design and Print.
Dancers had to enter the competition through video submissions and I am very pleased to say that Legacy Dance Academy's overall success was phenomenal!! Almost 150 video entries were received from the competition organisers, across 3 different dance styles. These were then judged by a panel of 3 independent adjudicators, 9 winners were picked from the sections and an INCREDIBLE 6 of those were our Legacy girls! The judges then picked 3 wildcard winners and one of our Legacy girls was picked for this too. We had more than just winners ... we took 1st, 2nd and 3rd placings in 2 of the Senior and 2 of the Junior sections! And 2nd and 3rd in the Infant sections. In fact Legacy Dance Academy took an amazing 18 of the 27 placings that were given across the competition! There was also an overall winner picked on the day - winning the chance to take part in a Musical Theatre workshop with a West End star of the hit musical 9 to 5, again this was one of our dancers!! JUST WOW! I could not be more proud of our Legacy Dance Academy dancers - their work ethic, all of the time but especially throughout lockdown, has been truly inspiring and, as principal of the school, I am really pleased to see that their hard work is paying off! Alongside the pride of seeing how much money we helped to raise for the very worthy NHS.
WELL DONE TO EVERYBODY THAT TOOK PART.
Well done to all of the dancers! Incredible achievement.
